Here are some of the people I met at the Shot Show. From Left to right
Rob Leatham, Wayne Novak, R Lee Ermey, Junior Sumner and Nancy who have been to evey Shot show except one they
gave some good tips to this first timer.
Here is an XD-9 subcompact with a Lasermax Guide rod.
This is a early prototype guide rod that may or may not go to production. The red arrows show you where the on/off buttons are.
On all of the models of the laser max the factory disassembly is removed and replaced with a laser max version. I was told the laser
max disassembly lever is actually stronger than the factory one so you dont have to worry about breakage.
The first picture compares the tactical and subcompact models. Note that the last two pictures are of an XD in 45gap. There will be
several versions:
9mm/357sig 4inch barrel
40 S&W 4 inch barrel
9mm/357sig/40S&W 5 inch barrel
9mm/40S&W 3 inch barrel (not finalized in early prototype stage)
45gap (not known if another lasermax version is required)
The laser max laser guide rods are tested to between 15,000 and 20,000 rounds before they are even considered for production. The lasers
are listed as water resistant, but not water proof. The batteries have a continueous life of 1.5 hrs and are standard watch batteries.
The lasers are set to be released about the end of Feb 2005.
Here is the brand new Glock 39. The G39 is about the same size as the g26/27, and has a capacity of 7 rounds of 45gap. The pistols are so new the magazines are not even finalized. It was a nice feeling pistol even if it was a Glock.
Here are some new products from BlueWonder. The fast blast is a new cleaner/degreaser, that is polymer, fiber optic safe. This is to clean the carbon not
for lead and copper fouling, thats what the gun cleaner is for. The second picture is of the new gun black kit that will more closely match the xd`s finish.
I have the pleasure to be the first industry person to take pictures and release information on this Wayne Novak project. Basically what
he did was to combine the 1911 main spring housing and grip safety into one peice. What this does is gets rid of the Grip safetys function.
Since the 1911 was released there have always been people who with a normal grip get the grip safety to enguage. So instead of pinning the
safety down Wayne has made a nice one piece set up. The silver looking one is to show you what it looks like, and it is actually installed
on the pistol, traditional looking but an improvement for those who like to keep things simple and reliable.
Here is an update for you left handed shooters. The excelent Galco Matrix holster will now be available in left hand.
These were sent to me by SkyGun9 and include some new model 1911`s the XD line and the Convention center. The Shot show is huge and this one was the
